This is a unique yoga retreat, an incredible northern adventure staying in a beautiful castle like house on a remote isle of the Shetland. A haven for the beautiful sea birds and animals of the Atlantic. On this 6 day yoga retreat we will deepen our yoga and meditation practice and our connection to the elements and nature. With a sense of the omnipotent in the elements around us, the ever expanding sea and sky and midsummer lightness we can explore the spectacular island at our leisure. As well as regular Hatha yoga sessions in the yurt, we will explore different pranayama and meditation techniques. we will also have the opportunity to study yoga philosophy, discussing chapters of the Bagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras.

There is also safe sea swimming in the most beautiful clear sea water and a sauna to warm up afterwards overlooking the bay.

The island is mostly self sufficient as there is a  small working farm on the island and an amazing farm garden full of vegetables providing nutritious vegetarian meals by a brilliant experienced chef.

All the rooms are cosy doubles with single occupancy and the house is absolutely stunning as it has been been restored to its former glory with all the origional decour from the late 18th Century.

This is a beautiful remote part of the world, Half way between the British Isles and Scandinavia The Sheltland is an outcroup of ancient mountains with now just their craggy peaks jutting out of the Ocean. A home to the sea birds and mammals of the the Atlantic and North Sea.

Join me in this other worldly place for a six day Yoga Retreat, a Northern adventure onto this remote private island, facing westwards looking out to Foula the furthest flung Shetland Isle. The practices will be suitable for all bodies with posture options and modifications.
