Midwinter Medicine Day Retreat

Release and let go of those January blues with a blissful, restful yoga retreat in the beautiful surroundings of Knepp Safari where we will be cosy and warm in the yurt what ever the weather. After the festivities of midwinter January is the best time to nestle down and get into our soft animal selves and enjoy the nurturing quiet resting body. Connecting through nature in this wonderful peaceful place to a calmer quiter space within us. When we practice our yoga outdoors we tune in to the natural elements—air, earth, water, wood, and fire, and they become metaphors for inner balance, grounding us and fostering deeper sense of connection and being. The rhythmic flow of our breath during our yoga mirrors the cycles of nature, creating a space of pausing, breathing, and being present.

Letting our yoga practice ground us, and our meditation and walking in the beautiful rewilding project of Knepp Safari inspire us to contemplate the posibities of change and how we think about nature, ourselves and our environment around us. Allowing us to feel more centered, grounded, and connected to the earth. Yoga and meditation become pathways to peace, healing, and harmony within the larger rhythms of life.

We will start the morning with an uplifting cleansing energising yoga practice leading to a guided meditation. Then a delicious healthy nourishing lunch of local seasonal foods, a walk around the wilderness of Knepp in the afternoon followed by a deeply restful restorative practice and a Soundbath with Lois Richards to really take us into that calm, deep nuturing space, to reset and revitalise our body, mind and spirit.

There will be lots of lovely healthy teas and warm berry toddies, creating a day of healthy self care through the all senses.

This day retreat is open to all levels and experiences, so whether you are adept yogi or a beginner, or recovering your strength, come and spend a deeply restful day at the Yoga Garden, guided through your practice of self reflection and sowing seeds of good intention for the new year ahead.
